When was the last time anyone saw an actual mothball?

This is eerily prescient as I am reading this while a severe thunderstorm rages outside and tornado watches & warnings are up until 2:00 am. As for the hail size before golf it was pea, egg, apple, and grapefruit sized.

And Ruthie, ping-pong size hail is 1.5 inches in diameter. Just under golf ball size (1.75 inches).

A little ping pong-sized hail never seemed to bother Captain Kangaroo. Of course, he was indoors, and the “hail” was actual Ping Pong balls . . .

Hail, pea-sized can cause plenty of damage.

On a similar note, what did tornadoes sound like before there were railroad trains. . . ?
