From one who thought he was speaking to a “Russian Official” regarding compromising photos of Trump.

Evidently, all the Trump Disciples, like Chip, actually believe that Trump is absolutely above the law.

Lying Trump’s traitorous actions do not equate to Schiff’s ironic statement, false equivalency. How many times has creepy Trump said something totally ugly then said, “I was only joking,” when the heat came back to him?

What confuses many, is the name. Today’s “Republicans” are actually anti-constitutional, anti-democracy, and anti-republican in their ideology and actions. Ther membership illustrates their exclusiveness compared to the actual demographics, their priority of profit over environmental or social needs shows the lack of moral or ethical responsibility for their actions, and their excessive use of polling restrictions, gerrymandering, and disproportionate representation reveals their anti-republican pro-authoritarian core beliefs.

They are desperate as the younger generations do not share these beliefs and will not likely continue them. This is seen as their last chance to preserve a remnant of self-anointed supremacy based on their race and religious beliefs. All the things that constitutional democratic republican Americans seek in a president are not to be found in the resident, yet the “Republican’s” overt hatred of equal justice for all, self-governing, and fair elections allows people like Chip to view the resident as their champion, in what may be their last chance for generations to come to have control and attempt to turn a democracy into an autocracy.

Most businesses have policies for quickly removing incompetent, non-team-playing, negative disrupters and sensible job requirements to screen out most of the undesirables. We know what is wrong, yet our two opposing party system seems to sustain — through long-drawn-out impeachment processes — the corrupt and incompetent while forcing the best and brightest far away from the government. Maybe we show elect some real patriots and change that?

If someone says that they parody, that means that they acknowledge that it is not to be taken literally (although Schiff’s parody was more of a paraphrase of the phone call). When Trump lies, he cannot admit that he is wrong.

I don’t get it. “Conservatives” (shudder-quotes because they’re no such thing) keep portraying Schiff as some sort of blithering lunatic. In fact his utterances are sober, clear, literate, and concise. He talks in sentences which have content (cf. the word-salad that tumbles from the porcine lips and fidgety digits of Trumpsky). In hearings, his questions are calm, focused, measured, and to the point.

True, Wm Barr creates an air of sober calm, but there’s an alarming disconnect between the real world and what he says.

Poe’s Law: An adage of Internet culture stating that, without a clear indicator of the author’s intent, it is impossible to create a parody of extreme views so obviously exaggerated that it cannot be mistaken by some readers for a sincere expression of the parodied views.

    This goes double for politics.
