Maybe not necessarily deflect. I’m thinking of Fearless Fosdick who can either ‘absorb’ them (‘tis only flesh wounds as he’s swiss cheesed) or avoid them while dancing. More main character than sidekick abilities though.

Might want to join the “sidekick of month” club there. Might be cheaper in the long run.
