We always “escorted” our dog out on all her potty trips. She only weighed about 8 lbs. and we had hawks that lived in the area. We didn’t know whether one could actually swoop down and carry her away or not, but even if it couldn’t we knew she’d get pretty injured in the process if they tried so we always stayed out there with her for her protection — just in case. Thankfully, nothing like that ever happened in the 17 years we had her.
