I walked into the kitchen tonite and the counter was crawling with hundreds of ants! I sprayed them with Febreze and now the kitchen smells like a public restroom, but I got all the ants… I hope!

At least the weather is nice out on the loading dock. Chesney is due for a little “Dock Time”.

No, Chesney, YOU"RE the unfair one, accusing Annie of being a tyrant and telling her she must go. Where would you be without her? How would you eat? Annie is a sweetheart and you know that!

Today is National Read a Book Day. I read books every day. I seldom read an entire book in in one day. but I’ve done it when they’ve been quick reads – like under 150 pages.

National Lazy Mom’s Day. I’m just a cat mom, but I did this one day early. I was lazy yesterday. Today, I have to go to work.

National Food Bank Day

National Coffee Ice Cream Day. I don’t like coffee or coffee ice cream, so I’l pass on this one.

National Be Late For Something Day. My excuse if I happen to be late to work this afternoon.

From yesterday’s comments – to whisplicka – I expect your note arrived at my Walmart, but I have not gotten it yet. It might have gotten there on Tuesday, but I was off that day & also off on Thursday, but someone should have given it to me on Wednesday. I’ll have to find out what happened with that note when I go to work later today.

I’m going to be out all day Saturday, and might be back too late to post anything so I might have to incorporate Caturday’s pictures in with Bunday’s ones.

Chesney, you are so unfair to Annie, who loves you and takes care of you. Sentence yourself to 2 hours on the loading dock.

Chesney doesn’t remember walking on air when he came back from heaven and Annie picked him up and hugged him. We had rain yesterday!!!!! And it only hit 78!! Love the change in the weather, no 90s after tomorrow. I can hardly wait to dress in layers.

This strip leaves me with one question…how does he Not get scotch tape “all” over himself with those furry “trouble makin” paws??

If Annie gave you your ‘freedom’, you wouldn’t know what to do with it.

I got this email yesterday from Noreen Klose who had gone into the hospital for some heart related work.

I am finally home. Almost 2 weeks in the hospital, about 3 weeks in a “rehab/ retirement” home. My 1 to 2 days turned into 1 MONTH! I’m sorry that I’ve missed sooo much, that I’ll take days to catch up on all my comics, etc. I hope that you are in good health. I will take time to catch up on “old news”.

Aug 6 to Sept 5…a whole month shot. A “simple procedure”- – - my behind. Yeah, I have lots of instructions to follow from the doctors.

I’m going to post on Ten Cats and Breaking Cat News that I’m back. The last time I posted, I got no replies, so I wonder if I’ve been “shadow banned”. Please let me know if you can see it.

I have looked and have seen nothing from her. Wonder if Gocomics has put her on the loading dock?

Chesney knows that Annie loves him and he loves her. He can’t possibly admit to that, can he?

Still a little windy, but Dorian has mostly cleared out. At my house, power stayed on and nothing worse than a few dead branches out of the dogwood and my tomatoes blew over. Picked up the dead wood (now I don’t have to trim it) and was able to sit the tomato cages back up so all is well. Walked around the block with Moxie and nothing major I could see, but didn’t go anywhere else. My biggest problem was she wanted to sit outside in the storm and I had a terrible time getting her in out of the rain and when I did she was a soggy doggy.

In the larger picture, the areas that always flood with storms (tidal stuff) flooded as usual, but I’ve been through much worse. Gloria back in the 80s ripped the awning off the house and Isabelle back in ‘03 (I think) had the power out for a full week. It was much worse in North Carolina where some folks who didn’t evacuate some of the barrier islands are stranded. Overall, it could have been way worse since the storm was moving faster through here than through the Bahamas and didn’t have the worst at high tide.

Sadly, If Annie does give Chesney more paper, I doubt he’d say thank you. On another note, saw some robins gathered on a lawn on the way home from work today. I think they were looking for worms.
