Someone once posited a perpetual motion machine that consisted of a cat, with a piece of buttered toast, butter-side up, strapped to its back, and dropped from a low height. The rotation caused by the cat trying to land on it’s feet vs the toast trying to land butter-side down would create an infinite number of rotating cycles. (I don’t think the author described the mechanism to attach the cat to the generator, so relax, y’all.)

all things being equal, the added weight of the butter does increase the odds of it landing face down

He obviously buttered the wrong side of the toast :-)
