We are all responsible for the degree to which we participate in the harm to others and to the world at large. There’s the argument that selling cigarettes is harming others. Then there’s the argument that “I need this job so I can eat!” Or “I need this car so I can get to work!” Balancing the good and the harm are always fraught.

This is mean, but funny. I don’t object to the clerk allowing adults to “pick their poison”
