Why does school start midsummer in some places – especially hot areas of the country? School is not suppose to start until September – after Labor Day. Though some districts around here are starting on Tuesday or Thursday instead of the traditional Wednesday or Monday after Labor Day in NYC. I would think that August would be too hot for school.

Yeah, I’m in Atlanta and some started back on 8/1. The majority are going back today 8/5. August IS too hot for school.
