I do not believe that Boris Johnson is a “clown” – nor is he “evil incarnate”.
Now that I’ve distinguished him from America’s evil incarnate clown, I will only say that Boris was once opposed to the United Kingdom leaving the European Union and now he’s apparently all for it, and I’m not clear at all about what brought about the change.
Understand that I am a “Globalist”, and that I heartily approve of the merging of national borders.
The idea of leaving an association simply because you DISAGREE with the pathway chosen by the majority is worse than stupid – it’s childish! “Picking up your ‘marbles’ and going home”, just because you don’t agree with the majority is an option you lose – usually around the age of eight!
In my opinion, Mr. Johnson dead wrong in his chosen path, but, at least, he seems to be willing to attempt to guide his country along the path he’s decided is the correct one, and of course, the U.K. has the option, unavailable to Americans, of deposing Boris and going along another path if his “way” doesn’t appear to be working.
(At least that’s my impression of the way politics works in the U.K – it seems, from my parochial perception, that, where we are stuck with our “mistakes” for four years, the enlightened members of the U.K. can correct their “mistakes” almost at will.)

At least Mr. Johnson said he didn’t support sending British troops to support any U.S. attack on Iran.
