When I was in grade school in the 1970s, there was no faster way to destroy somebody than to claim they were gay. And denials would only make the other kids more certain that it was true. There really wasn’t any defense against that sort of rumor.

It’ll be interesting to see where this goes, I don’t think Heart has ever had to deal with this sort of thing before.

No one should ever have to be afraid to be different, or to show that they care for someone.

Heart needed a friend, that’s the important part.

This story line is causing a giant vacuum. Tatulli you can do much better.

No doubt you will handle this situation with compassion and grace.

We all have to do better learning how to respect the differences in others.

When I was a child an accusation like this would have devastated me. Now that I’m an adult, I realize, it is not an insult to be thought gay. Just a misunderstanding.

Any retaliation of Heart and Kat’s part will probably get them kicked out and in serious trouble with their parent(s).

It is truly awful to be the target of an untrue rumor. But you can only hold your head up high and be true to yourself and answer anyone directly when confronted with it. In the end the truth will come out. It always does.

Some of the comments from 2 years ago are pretty cringe. Guess I shouldn’t be surprised. We don’t live in good times now either.
