    Once I had a very popular brand of American used car. I bought the extended warranty on the engine at the dealership. A few months later the two halves of one of the pulleys that drove the alternator/water pump/etc came un-welded and the pulley split in two. I barely made it home, what with the alternator no longer charging the battery. The next day, it was explained to me by the dealer that this pulley was not actually part of the engine (and yes, while it was attached, it was about 2 inches outside of the engine), so it was not covered under the warranty. That was the last American car I ever owned. So, enjoy the money you got from that service, American-car-brand-that-shall-remain-nameless! Fool me once, shame on you – fool me twice, shame on me!
