They’re ok for short hops. Provided your destination is within , oh, 2 feet or so….

I’m still wondering what kind of farm critter that is. Especially with a nose that turns black to pink to black.

July 15 is

Gummi Worm Day. I’m not too crazy about those things.

National Give Something Away Day. I’m doing that! A neighbor down the street was selling heirloom tomato plants and they had some left which they are giving away. Anything not picked up yesterday was going on the compost pile today, so I took some plants to work yesterday to give away. There were still a couple plants left when I went home Sunday night, so I’m still giving them away Monday.

National Get Out of the Doghouse Day. I try not to get into the doghouse.

National I Love Horses Day. I’ve loved horses ever since I was a kid. I even had and invisible horse when I was a kid. She was medium brown with a long light brown mane and tail and her name was Brown Sugar. I “rode” that imaginary horse everywhere I went.

National Pet Fire Safety Day. A good idea.

National Tapioca Pudding Day. I love tapioca pudding so I guess I’ll need to make some when I get home from work.

I’m in the habit of hitting the Random tab for a solid Ten Cats fix and this morning September 03, 2017 came up – one of my favorites with our sweet Annie smiling!

Tail’s a bit small for a squirrel, but way too fluffy for a groundhog. I’ll go with squirrel. Or some mystery animal or another…

Hey, there’s an actual rock called Haystack Rock! So much for looking it up…

The secret is out: chickens can’t fly! But did you know that wild turkeyscan fly? One broke a window on the fifth floor of the Federal Treasury Building here in Parkersburg WV. On a side note: West Virginia is considering a trade of excess wild turkeys to Texas for wild quail now that the quail habitat has been restored where strip mines used to be. Life goes on!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a chicken fly. I know that domestic ducks can’t fly, but wild ducks can. That’s why Donald Duck (based off the domestic Pekin duck) doesn’t fly, but Daffy Duck (based on a wild melanistic Mallard duck) is often seen flying in cartoons.
