You made me realise that this is another place I haven’t posted my sad news… sad, not just for me but, I think, for all of us here.
This is still very hard for me to talk about….so I’m mostly copying a comment I made a little earlier on Brevity….
Sorry if anyone sees it in both places.
I thought it would spread by osmosis, and it hasn’t, but I don’t want to post it all over the place, either.
Many of you have known X_Tech for a long time…but maybe not that he’s been my dearest friend, and my heart’s companion,
He passed away last Monday, June 24th, after a difficult week in ICU with severe pneumonia.
He was extremely funny, kind…. and very courageous, in the face of many medical battles…
His loss is a blow to this site, and to all the people he guided with his patient technical advice.
I was devoting my time to him during his last week, though he wasn’t conscious…
and haven’t been on the comics much since.
Because we were both very private, we didn’t talk online about our relationship…
But I can say, now, that I’ve been having trouble finding my funny bone, or even spreading the news.
I’m slowly trying to work my way back… though it’s difficult, and will probably be intermittent for a while yet.
Sorry to have disappeared without saying why.
