Personally, the worst part of this has been seeing all the deplorables crawl out of the woodwork to show their support for Trump’s triumphant travesty.

What scares me is now that open support for Tiny seems to be growing among IT workers I encounter (as a consultant).. I read the media articles about “Tech Against Trump” and all seems well, but that is not the reality I see among IT professionals in large offices.. Frankly I’m getting worried.

Back office work in America is getting to be like the last scene of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” over and over again.. I enjoyed working abroad before settling down in the USA.. Maybe it really is time again…

The kind of white immigrant Trump really wants are Putin’s jackboots on America’s soil.It has already started in Kentucky where a Putin oligarch is setting up a business. Trump lifted the sanctions on him so he could get his tentacles on America’s soil.

I was brought up to believe that the US was a smart, innovative country that believed in freedom and opportunity. Then I traveled to some other countries, and I came to realize that the US is actually a rather frightened society—frightened of itself and others—with a history based on genocide and slavery, a society that promotes ignorance and prejudice and inequality. The good of the US—and there has been a lot of good—has had to struggle to overcome the bad. Sometimes, with luck and persistence, the good manages to make progress, but now the bad tendencies of US society have become dominant, and it will take a lot of work to bend the arc towards justice and progress.

For sure don’t take a job working for him. And it’s probably a bad idea to come here unless you sound and look white and probably male. Though high-tech is good if you don’t leave the ghetto.
