I used to have a lab for duck hunting. When I shot at an incoming duck, she would immediately hit the water. When I missed, she would bring back a decoy. She knew what she was supposed to do. I just didn’t do my job well at times.
What if the breeder was really a robot decoy built by ducks to train dogs that only fetch artificial ducks?
It’s not the breeder’s fault. There is something wrong with the training.
Actually, the dogs pretty smart. It knows you can’t hit anything so it brought back the decoy to call it a day.
