Amen! I noticed only 173 of 193 remaining House democrats voted today for Pelosi for Speaker….1 voted “present”!

Pelosi’s outgoing speech was totally political and partisan, and she managed a verbal slur as she surrendered the gavel to the new Speaker!

IMO from January 2007 to January 2011, she earned my title for her….Wicked Witch of the West….for her dictatorial rule of the House and abuse of the Minority, and for all the bad bills she railroaded into law.

I think the position should be renamed “Crier of the House”. It shows where the new leadership’s sentiments lie when the first order of business is to “repeal the healthcare law” knowing that it will not be in the Senate.

If Republicans hate her so much, she must’ve been doing something right.

Say what you will but Pelosi was devisive…. Not too much better w/ her repalcement tho…

^^ Pelosi actually got stuff done, Boehner’s too busy trying to make useless time-wasting repeal gestures and trying to cut down working hours to only 3 weeks a month at the same pay.

Pelosi’s replacement is even worse and so is this congress!

I heard and saw a lot of negative Pelosi commentary throughout her tenure, but never once heard of anything specific that conservatives hated about her. They managed to demonize her without raising a single actual objection to anything she had said or done beyond representing the policies of her party – but they managed to make it personal, as if doing her job was a character flaw.

And her “political speech” simply praised the many accomplishments of “The Worst Congress Ever.” Not an unusual thing to do on the way out of office. Mind you, as futile a gesture, perhaps, as showing Obama’s birth certificate. The loonies will believe what they want to believe anyway.

Isn’t it interesting that the toppling of Saddam’s statue in Iraq, upon which this cartoon is based, has been shown to have been a phony staged photo-op?

tj is correct- the repubs have demonized Ms. Pelosi without any specifics because she has gotten important legislation passed. The repubs have not wanted to help govern the country. They have just wanted Obama to look bad.

She did “accomplish” much, unfortunetly (for this gifted, well-qulified person) this is “the people’s house”, and the people spoke in as loud of a voice as they could, “stop”!

Neither statement makes much sense, but they equate.

my view may be in the minority on this page, but I am with the overwhelming Majority…not just of conservatives, but independents and moderate democrats! Polls are done across the political spectrum!
