We are now a society comprised of people who do not understand principle, have no basis for actual morality, and are utterly incapable of critical thinking.

Of course AW wants to pretend that Nazis were actually socialists, even though they locked up socialists. Just like he wants to pretend that today’s Republican party is against the KKK just because the Republican party of the 1860’s was.
A little bit of truth can be distorted a long way, which is lucky, because otherwise it would be almost impossible for him to rationalize supporting Individual 1.
