And it was glowingly reported on from the headquarters of his favorite cable TV station, in Fantasyland.

Possibly the emergency is dementia in the White House.

Or maybe the president’s pants are on fire in the Oval Office.

TrumpubliCONs need to be careful what they wish for.

If Trump can get away with declaring an emergency for a FAKE crisis (hello, if your concern [illegal border crossings] has been diminishing for the last TEN YEARS STRAIGHT [and you don’t want to recognize that Obama achieved that] and is currently at a 46-year-low; and if you can do nothing for two years when your party has complete control, and then five more weeks of a shutdown, and then three more weeks after that, and the solution [a wall] will take years to build, IT IS NOT AN EMERGENCY), then just wait until the next Democratic president is sworn in on January 20, 2021.

Now you have given permission for a Democratic president to declare emergencies that are REAL: climate crisis, epidemic of gun violence, people dying for lack of health care, people dying because they can’t afford prescribed medicines.

The National Emergencies Act (NEA) (Pub.L. 94–412, 90 Stat. 1255)

Trump has just sealed the end of his own power. The very first words of the U.S. Constitution after the Preamble — the first words of the actual body of the Constitution — the first words of the first paragraph of Article I Section 1 are: “All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.”

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled repeatedly that the Congress CANNOT DELEGATE legislative authority — the making of laws — to the Executive. It CAN create agencies in the Executive that promulgate detailed rules, but ONLY within strictly defined parameters that constitute the actual legislation.

Bush would not allow media to show dead military coming back from his stupid wars. Trump just revoked Obama rule on reporting drone strikes killing civilians. Journalists better watch out.

It continues to amuse me how all the people still using the phrase “Trump derangement syndrome” have yet to realize that they’re talking about themselves. But, given their “command” of spelling, punctuation, and grammar, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that they’re slow learners.

The Supreme Court can not let the Emergency Powers Act stand without some serious changes. Even if the they and the congress didn’t mind relinquishing the balance of powers provisions in the constitution for the orange idiot, it would be establishing the right of any President to use whatever money s/he chooses for whatever s/he chooses. So, the congress and Supreme Court are powerless. That’s called a dictatorship.
