Socialism is what we see in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Canada, New Zealand, Finland, Iceland or the Netherlands. There is no socialism in Venezuela. There is no socialism in Cuba, China or North Korea. There was no socialism in the U.S.S.R. (notwithstanding what that second “S” stood for). Anyone can throw out a name, but that doesn’t make it so, it only makes them liars (but we already knew that).
There is good socialism and bad socialism.
Good socialism:
• Universal comprehensive no-fee health care
• Universal tuition-free public education through college
• Guaranteed secure retirement program
• Job training, job placement
• Proactive social services to PREVENT crime
• Infrastructure
• Law enforcement, firefighting, disaster relief
.
Bad socialism:
• Corporate welfare (socialism for the rich)
• Socialized professional sports (all rich people)
• Tax exemptions for churches that non-believers have to make up for (socialized religion)
Socialized medicine is not socialism. And it’s not a bad thing, either. Not so sure about true socialism, as that seems to fail in Cuba, etc. But yes, the U.S. has a healthcare crisis on its hands with greedy pharma and other elements of the system.
If they are SO AFRAID of the EVILS OF SOCIALISM, you know, BIG BAD GOVERNMENT CONTROL OF THINGS, then I guess we better disband all the Police Departments in the country, and all the Fire Departments and replace them with private for-hire contractors. Same for road maintenance, health departments, The Military, the Courts Systems, and more.

The last Democratic President and Congress we had to reduce taxes was JFK, let’s not delude ourselves that taxes will get lowered when the Democrats take full control back.
Fine cartoon, but there is barely a word spoken about medical care for all. It’s all about medical insurance for all. That should translate to actual medical care for all, but it also includes maintenance of a capitalist health care system that seems to get more bloated and more expensive every year.
Of course the Democrats don’t reduce taxes. That’s because that is job one for the Republicans every time they get themselves elected. Then they go right on spending, which pushes the deficit higher and higher. Since the Democrats then inherit that deficit when they take back the government, they don’t reduce taxes because they have to rescue the economy from the mess the Republicans have gotten it into.
All of the polls that come up with 70-80% of Americans wanting Medicare for all, free college, livable minimum wage, maintained infrastructure and working toward reducing global warming are achieved because the poll taker doesn’t identify those ideas as being the platform of the Democratic party. As soon as they find that out, those folks in the MAGA hats on empty heads suddenly realize that they were bad ideas.

Many confuse socialism with totalitarianism. Individual 1 is trying to lead us to totalitarianism.

Personally, I use the phrase “VA For All”.

Well, this cartoon pretty much sums it up.

SOMEONE needs to explain “Accounting 101” to the Republicans.
Rule#1: IF YOU SPEND MORE THEN YOU MAKE, YOU WILL GO BROKE!! Just ask trump… he did it 5 times!
