    Morning, Village!

On this day in history, 1836, Lt. Col. William Ward, Commander of a force of 80 Georgia volunteers, tried to retreat after being defeated at the Battle of Refugio on the previous day. They were surrounded by Urrea’s army and captured, taking another bite out of the revolutionary army. As the Texas forces continue to dwindle, Sam Houston continues to lead his men eastward.

    Hi Vagabonds

Boy, have we been dumped on, this is the worst line storm we’ve had in years. There is a possibility of 18” in the highest elevations. We’re not the in the highest points but, well, you know, close enough.

Going to be fun driving to Newport, but, that’s what four wheel drive is for.

Better day for all y’all and may God bless.

    Morning, Village!

We actually had a whole day without rain! A beautiful day to go to the State Fair. And the little grandson had the time of his life! It was so much fun, watching him ride the kiddie rides and pet the animals and laugh so hard!

    Good morning Vagabonds.

It is a beautiful 47 degrees here in Mid-MO with an expected high of 57. We actually hit 70 yesterday. Spring rocks!! My crocus are in bloom and the daffodils are growing tall. By tonight we should have rain, but the sun will be back by late Monday.

May you all have a wonderful weekend!

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

David, I love it when I am able to accompany a small child on a new adventure. Our eyes may be jaded, but they see only wonder and excitement. And it’s contagious.

We actually went out to see a couple of manufactured home models yesterday. We were astounded at the low cost and the great workmanship. The park where they are installed is not very nice, but the manufacturer will special order one for us and set it up where we want it. And all for way less than half of what a new home would cost. We are very encouraged.

We had a lot of fun at cards last night. And of course we overate again. But what can you do when you are offered a lemon cake/Bavarian cream/strawberry shortcake?

It’s supposed to get up to 74 today. Another nice day to leave the patio door open for fresh air.

    Everyone have a blessed day.

    Good Sunny morning, Vagabonds,

Everyone’s adventures sound like a lot of fun!

David, your history lesson of the day is very welcome! Are these excerpts from your book? I wouldn’t normally read a whole book of history, but small accounts are great.

Our tulips are the first to pop out of the ground. Of course, it would help if the ground wasn’t covered with so much snow. I guess this year they’ll show up in another 3 to 4 weeks.

We’ve been facetiming baby Jack a lot. I can’t believe he is so small. He’s only just over 7 lbs, but I guess I’m used to our 4 kids being 8 lbs 7 oz.
