I once worked for a guy whose son had a MFA in sculpture. I was thinking what the heck do you do with that (after all I’m a chemical engineer!). Turns out he worked in art restoration and had what I still think would be one of the best jobs ever. For one job, he had to live in a Swiss castle and work on a private collection. The owner of the castle then flew his wife to Switzerland and gave them ski passes for Christmas. His next assignment was to Old Andrew’s in Scotland. The time I spoke with him he was designing the travel display cases for the Titanic. So I NEVER make fun of anyones degree.
There was an art degree / work in a coffee shop joke in the Beardo strip on Tuesday. And I know someone who was a theater major who works Starbucks. So I guess this is a trope.
