This actually happened years ago in Kansas City. The young man saved the elderly woman’s life from the fire and the fall but the catch crushed his spine and left him a paraplegic. Probably the saddest recue story I have ever read. I lost track of him after donating to his care fund at United Missouri Bank all those years ago.
