Maybe my industry is different, every Engineer I hire starts at the same salary and the senior management population is about a 50/50 split. You want your children to have an even shot i’d nudge them towards a career where knowledge matters.

The American Way. Treat both men and women like crap, and keep doing it for as long as you can get away with it. Then, when we finally revolt cluck at each other while the poor kill each other and wonder, “What is wrong with those people? Why can’t they all get along?” BTW, I’ve had some people go above and beyond and show me and my family the true meaning of Christmas. We can unite and help and love each other and laugh while the stock market tanks right before Christmas. Instant karma gonna get ya, gonna knock ya right in the head. There is some justice in the world. Peace and love and hugs and kisses to all!

Ha!. Unless, of course, your family happens to have made it into that segment of the population known as “the makers” (credit: Ayn Rand). In which case, your tiny segment of the population will own >51% of the world. Your ancestors will look down and occasionally provide guidance to a select few of “the takers”, when your family will make a buck from the deal. I suggest that Atlas Shrugged because it makes no sense.

The same was/is true in education. Men and women are paid the same and it’s not enough for the work we did/do.

One day soon men will earn much less then women. Also all women will lose their jobs and bank accounts (turned over to the nearest male family member) and much sooner than 202 years. Think a real version of the Handmaid’s Tale in action—-the early years. And the only ones doing hard menial work will be men and women who have low social rating in the new Gilead.

How about some citations and justification? As far as your second completely subjective sentence-bitter much? Wasn’t Santa good to you today? Misogynist!

The global pay gap has much to do with different job choices. Women don’t like to be engineers, physicists, or technicians, but obviously prefer jobs as child-care workers or go for human sciences and arts. When I was young I thought they are hindered or discouraged to do otherwise. I do not believe this anymore. In any company I’ve ever worked, female engineers, programmers, or managers get the job easily and will win over even better skilled men. Every company tries very hard to geht them, for several reasons. But the desired qualified women almost don’t exist, they do not appear, they do not apply for the job. The few women I had as colleagues were supported and lauded, and they had to deliver less to be accepted very well. I’m not in prejudices, but in “postjudices”. I always worked well with and liked most of my female colleagues. But I can see in school events and at talent fairs that even today’s young girls prefer to work rather in the field of fashion, body care, jewelry, radio and tv than in programming, machinery maintenance, research and technology, where you can earn more.

That’s too bad. For such a great and witty voice for the progressives, you sure are wrong about the so-called pay gap. Just because women choose to work at lower paying jobs doesn’t mean they are being oppressed. You can’t take the sum total of all the women’s incomes and compare them to the sum total of all men. Of course the women are going to be less. They choose to work at lower paying jobs, and they work fewer hours if they have a kid. Quit spreading this lie about women being paid less. It just makes you look stupid.
