My grandmother was a professor who just opened the door each day and told her sons to be home in time for supper and dinner. When she later had a little granddaughter to stay for several days, she had my grandfather hoe up a garden close to the house and gave me cups, spoons, and pans to make mud pies. Mom never would have allowed it at home so I was in heaven and entertained for hours!

For as much as she makes them, you’d think she’d have it memorized
