Next. Wholesale immigration reform needs to take place. Personally, I want more immigrants, not fewer. I would add to our existing laws a guest worker program for laborers. A path to citizenship for those now in the US, subject to rules, of course. Stricter employer enforcement. As long as it was fair and part of a comprehensive plan. Immigrants like your ancestors eventually became Americans. As did mine. That’s the history. That’s our legacy. Obviously, we cannot accept everyone who wants to immigrate. But the way trump approaches it makes things worse, not better. His mental illness drives crazy results. Anything he is directly involved in will reflect that mental illness.
Finally, “jlocke” it is obvious that you and other folks enjoy the suffering that trump inspires in whatever he touches. You must enjoy it, revel in it. But in your heart, you know trump brings out the worst in EVERYONE. That’s his remarkable gift. A gift of mental illness that spread through the more vulnerable of us like a social plague. He appeals to the basest of instincts. But the dirty little secret is that you’ve been waiting for him to say and do what he does. I’m going to call you out on that as I believe you are not being truthful. Say the American Congress made a law that anyone who got one foot on American soil will be considered a legal immigrant. Would you be alright with that law and would then welcome the caravan?
