I’m amazed that it seems like professional sportscasters don’t understand that there are multiple rules for penalties for hitting the QB. So many were complaining about the new helmet rule, when the penalty was actually the “landing with +50% body weight”, which has been a rule for years. Yes, they were told to watch and call more closely, but not a new rule.

Easy solution: weight limits. No player over 200 lbs. This would turn it into a game of skill, again, instead of gratuitous mayhem.
