No, “Boys will be boys” doesn’t cut it. Sure, at 17 most boys (and yeah, girl too) do some pretty dumb stuff. It is part of growing up.
But, sorry, serious felonies, including ATTEMPTED RAPE, are not part of normal crazy teenage stuff. Most teenage boys are NOT in a “100 keg club” (drinking 100 KEGS, not bottles or cases, of beer on one year) and trying to do a “Satan’s triangle” forcible threesome.
At age 17 he was old enough that, for a FELONY (which attempted rape is in Maryland, where this occurred, with a possible life sentence and no statute of limitations), he could have been tried, convicted and sentenced.
More to the PRESENT case, Kavanaugh is LYING NOW about what happened 36 years ago. What happened 36 years ago may have been 36 years ago (and sorry, I do NOT buy the “boys will be boys” excuse for forcing a girl onto a bed, trying to rip her clothes off and covering her mouth to prevent screaming, even if in a blackout) THE LYING IS WHAT HE IS DOING NOW.
Kavanaugh has already been caught lying under oath in both his 2006 and current confirmation hearings. Instead of being confirmed, he should be impeached for the same thing he persecuted Bill Clinton for — lying about it.
Come to think of it, Clarence Thomas also stated UNDER OATH that he denied the credible and truthful allegations of Anita Hill. He was lying. He is also guilty of perjury and should be IMPEACHED.
Any one who gets to the blackout stage of drinking at the ripe old age of 17 is a danger to himself and the community. Did he drive himself home after this event?
Lets not be too harsh here folks.. going to a private school has its privileges. Sad as it is.. these “perks” have been taken for granted within many organizations.. “it”..is.. slowly.. becoming unacceptable.
But.. many of those geezers sitting on the bench.. and trying their best to show indignation.. have been part of or have intimate knowledge of this kind of action and remained silent.
