1. He was never well qualified. The 15 members of the ABA’s Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary rated him “qualified” (as opposed to “well qualified”) overall, but two rated him “not qualified” and no one rated him “well qualified.” (http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/1991-08-31/news/9102020960_1_clarence-thomas-thomas-nomination-judge-thomas). This is not acceptable for the country’s highest court. And before someone tries for a “what about” – Democrats have had candidates appropriately voted down precisely for their mediocrity.
2. He was guilty of sexual harassment, and his accuser was deliberately and falsely sabotaged. David Brock has admitted that “I demonized Democratic senators, their staffs and Hill’s feminist supporters without everinterviewing any of them.” He also noted that Justice Thomas used an intermediary to provide Mr. Brock with damaging information about a woman who had come forward to provide support for Ms. Hill’s accusations of harassment by Justice Thomas. (https://www.nytimes.com/2001/06/27/us/book-author-says-he-lied-his-attacks-anita-hill-bid-aid-justice-thomas.html) Thomas was evidently involved with women not his wife AT THE TIME of the Anita Hill case. (https://www.politico.com/story/2015/08/hillary-thomas-213205)
3. He took advantage of affirmative action himself and campaigned for civil rights but has since decried it for anyone else, including writing opinions against, for example, state schools including race as a criterion for acceptance.
4. He lied openly — committing perjury — when testifying before Congress as to whether he had discussed Roe v. Wade (sound familiar?), whereas he had in fact expressed his opposition to abortion before he joined the court. (https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/jul/02/justice-clarence-thomas-us-supreme-court)
5. And that’s leaving out his wife, who funds various “dark money” groups…
And.. evidently, like water off a ducks back.. it don’t bother either them or any Republicans for that mater. A reflection of moral values.. but power trumps values every time.
Lied to congress, has alcohol and gambling problems, won’t say who paid his hundred thousand of dollars of credit card debt, puts corporations over people, just a typical republican politician.

If Kavanaugh is CONfirmed, both he and Clarence Thomas need to be impeached for perjury in lying under oath during their CONfirmation hearings.

‘Justice’ Thomas and ‘Justice’ Kavanaugh, oxymoronic labels if I’ve ever heard them.

And, of course, there are those that will attempt to deny the woman any justice at all.

I suppose when you don’t have a conscience you can get used to people knowing that you got away with sexual harassment and assault.

Let’s hope that both are struck by lightening from those clouds, and thusly removed from their judicial roles.

No, we are not going to have two right wing sexual perverts on the Supreme Court.
