He could not even effectively manage the Hurricanes in Florida and Texas that voted for him; he couldn’t care less about Hawaii (that voted against him) or especially Puerto Rico where U.S. citizens can’t vote in presidential elections while on the island.
But Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens. They are free to travel and move anywhere in the U.S. And hundreds of thousands have fled Puerto Rico’s massive Trump-worsened devastation by resettling in the swing state of FLORIDA. And as soon as they get settled in their new digs, they are — as U.S. citizens — immediately able to vote as residents of Florida.
It matters not to God, so why in hell does it matter to Trump? Does he really think he’s on a par with Him?? (well, that is a stupid question, isn’t it?? Of course he does!)
Isn’t it very strange… US soldiers living in a foreign country are allowed to vote, US citizens living in a certain US territory are not … what kind of democracy is that?
As a protest I would like to see all U.S. citizens change their race/ethnicity to Puerto Rican on census and other government forms (driver license, etc). Get the word out.
The Carolinas had over a week of warnings and newscasters and meteorologists and state and local officials all basically saying “GTFO, NOW!!!” I have no sympathy for the folks who had transport and decided to “ride it out.”
@Huckleberry Hiroshima: I think you should get rid of this whole “race” thing. I don’t know any other country in the world than the USA where you have an officially state-registered “race” (which is a totally arbitrary thing, because it’s a continuum and there are no visible and clear borders between the supposed races), and which is even printed in official documents. When I think about it… now, one comes into my mind – it is Nazi-Germany, 80 years ago. I once had a discussion with a German who was married to a woman from Cuba, he said: My wife didn’t know she was black before she came to the States.

I don’t know any other country in the world than the USA where you have an officially state-registered “race” (which is a totally arbitrary thing, because it’s a continuum and there are no visible and clear borders between the supposed races), and which is even printed in official documents.
