California’s insistence on controlling car emissions in the 1970s was decried by many, but look what it did for the rest of the country (and even the world ). I don’t agree with everything the state mandates, but for this one I heartily agree.
Flying into LA in ‘67, smog so thick you couldn’t see the ground and plane had to go to instrument flight rules. NEPA (Nixon) and clean air and water acts cleaned things up, California went a step further because the threat was worse due to geography, among other things (it’s mostly desert and basins that trap smog). Today, Trump is reversing all environmental rules, written by NIXON’s folks, NOT Obama’s legacy. Simply put, Trump policies and people are out to kill millions.
