Serena Williams has clearly been treated differently. Not just because she is a woman. Not just because she got pregnant (really, bumped down to a ranking of 453rd just because she used her body for the purpose nature evolved it? … which she promptly proved to be unjustified).
No. It is because she is a woman. And got pregnant. And is black. And has the NERVE to demand that she be treated in a manner equal to and consistent with other players who are male (throw tantrums or change shirts with impunity) or white females (can wear body suits, but she can’t).
Stop the racism. Stop the sexism. Treat everyone with equal dignity.
I wish John McEnroe was punished for his violent behavior back in his day, but the rules were more lax then. Instead he was rewarded with a lucrative broadcasting career, what a shame.
You see the same double standard in baseball; if a white player plays in a very aggressive manner he is playing “old school” baseball and is cheered/ rewarded, a Hispanic is “hot dog” and booed/ridiculed.
