Taking cannabis off schedule one, and using it medically to get people OFF opiods is a good start, that “big pharma” doesn’t like, until they get a way to monopolize it. As to recreational, I have some reservations, but tobacco and alcohol are both much deadlier, and don’t have therapeutic value. Hmm, in fact, nicotine sulphate and alcohol are both great poisons.
I was working in health care when the “pain is the fifth vital sign” B.S. was rolled out and demanded by JCAHO. I thought at the time that insisting pain is intolerable and MUST be treated was a mistake, and a slippery slope. I hate being right.

With the limits placed on Opioids my prescription cost want up ten times. Some of us need them.

Cannabis is a natural plant-base product; Opioids have their place, but as @Radish says, No one overdoses on cannabis.
