The Queen of Soul and R&B…. All of the world is really going to miss her…. There cannot be one person who loves good rhythm and blues who will not think of her with great Respect . That song might have belonged to Otis Redding in the beginning but what Aretha Franklin did with it as a cover was so outstanding that it could be never thought of after that as anything but her signature… R.I.P You will live on in our memories and never be forgotten.
Loved that “sock it to me” used in the song, used quite a lot in the late 60’s and early 70’s but not so much anymore these days. So much great talent came along back in those days, many were not as fortunate to last as long as Aretha did, but then when you heard her sing you knew she was going to stand out for a long time. She was also inspirational in many areas beyond music!

Respect, the Otis Redding song that most people think is Aretha’s. She did do a good cover of the song.
