I know Toles retired and this strip is from 10 years ago anyway, but: lines are 1D. It’s a plane (or anything planar, like a square) that is 2D.

The actual comic is 2D. The characters in the thought balloon are 1D.

2D? Is that the same as DD?

I must be wearing them now…
