I read that Carl Rose turned in this cartoon, but it was too real the way he drew it, and Ross or White or somebody had the inspiration of having Thurber redraw it. As someone else put it, this didn’t seem so deadly. One could imagine the winner handing the other fellow his head back, and they to to lunch.
