In Colorado we drive an hour, and hike to gorgeous high altitude lakes around tree line. They say being near any body of water will help you be more relaxed and happy. Kudos to you Matt for putting your finger on the fact that people are pretty stressed out, and that we don’t have to go to Mars (or watch all about it on the boob tube) to get stress relief! When/if humans ever do colonize Mars, I wonder how long it will take them to drain that “vast” underground lake dry… and then claim that “nature” didn’t replenish it for them.

I’m not certain about “Vast.” I am certain about the Oxygen content in Mars’ atmosphere. You go first.
