It really is time for some folks to seriously read up on the rise of Hitler and the Nazi, after he stole the election to gain power intially in the National Socialist Party, which was Fascist, NOT “socialist” after he took power.
The unconstitutional cap on the number in the House of Representatives needs to be removed. The number needs to be increased to reflect the actual population so the range doesn’t go from one rep for 528K to one rep for 900K people.
This will also change the number in the Electoral College. Next change the primaries so they are all held on the same day so that Iowa doesn’t have the power they have on presidential candidates. The ethanol mandate is worse for the environment; any coincidence with Iowa being a major corn producer and therefore received LOTS of subsidies?
“Jlocke” doesn’t seem to consider a virtuous character or ethical behavior important. Forget policy. Forget incompetence. I would appreciate a basal level of honesty, decency and integrity. I would appreciate striving for high ethical standards and not corruption. But that’s too much to expect, I guess.
It’s interesting I had a chance to discuss this topic of old fashioned virtues at length yesterday with an Army colonel friend of mine. I suggested the military’s honor code is far superior to that of their putative leader. He concurred quietly, and repeated the essential elements of the Army code back to me and we agreed on the importance of high aspirational values as the foundation of integrity. We agreed that while we may fall short as fallible humans, aspirational values are essential and matter deeply.
But honor, honesty, and integrity just don’t matter to trump supporters. They refuse to believe that fruit from a poisonous tree is tainted.
After nearly destroying Teresa May and embarassing the Queen, Trump is off to kiss Putin’s behind even tho Mueller just indicted a dozen in the Russian military for hacking our election.
Speaking of ‘delusional’ did you see pinhead Gowdy’s inquisition against the FBI agent for having a political opinion. The pack of mad dog republicans were just frothing at the mouth trying to get their unreal answers.
Jlocke – do you really not see the parallels to the 1930’s? Do you not see fascism, in a variety of guises, but always one voice, one boss – rising all over the world? And if you do see it, is that alright with you? Wonder what John Locke would have thought? Just curious.
