My old dog, who was a male mostly-terrier-with-some-poodle+ mutt, and the size of a Scotty, had a major league bark. Invariably, when people encountered him for the first time, they would hear him first. When they saw him, they would always ask if he was the only dog. Nobody thought a little dog like him could sound so serious.
