Politics: Making someone else do what you want them to do, and convince them it’s “for their own good”.
I used to say the House and Senate should have 2 parties and be evenly split to force both sides to compromise for a majority vote. Now I favor a Parliamentary system with as many parties as there can be and let them fight it out before making any changes to the laws. We are not meant to create new laws at the whim of a single party (either side), we’re supposed to reflect the needs of the entire community/state/country.
