The fact that this punchline went over my head is a good sign of how things have improved in my lifetime. Yes, there is some racism today, but it is not the structural racism that was the rule in the 1960’s. Because of the inherent evil that is in the human heart, it is easy to look down upon anyone who is different from ourselves. Unlike the song in South Pacific, we do not need to be taught to hate. Instead the hate those who are different is easy.It is only through Jesus Christ that we can learn to love each other. As the apostle Paul stated ,"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28) In God’s eye there are only two classes of people – those who are His and those who aren’t. Only He knows the difference. We are commanded to proclaim the good news to all that forgiveness and redemption has been provided to all who are willing to believe in His Son and accept the sacrifice that was paid by Him so that we can live for God instead opposing Him and His ways in our lives.

Racism has been part of this country from before its founding and important throughout to today. It has a new advocate in our President.
Didn’t go over my head. We thought it was a good sign with our previous president, even though he is a Neo-Liberal and as conservative as many republicans. And then we got the Electoral College white backlash to override the vote for a Neo-Liberal Plutocrat politico like Hillary and instead got a self centered Know-Nothing in her place.
