Decades ago, my parents would occasionally take all 5 of us kids to a restaurant owned by a friend of the family. Their specialty dessert was strawberry shortcake with whipped cream (the real homemade stuff). I can’t stand strawberries – I mean I really detest them, so the waitress would always give me a bowl of nothing but the whipped cream. It was piled as high as everyone else’s dessert so I could blend in. Hard to find that homemade whipped cream anymore.
