My niece is a bit skittish around cops, having a few speeding tickets in her resume. When I have my grand-nieces over, I try to encourage the image of “Mr. Friendly Policeman;” if they are in trouble I want them running to a cop.
I am acutely aware that my grand-nieces are female and white, and that under other circumstances my advice would be Bad.
