That’s the way to handle it.
At home it is the other way around, my husband is the blanket stealer. We call it crank-sleeping. Turn on your side grabbing the blanket, turn on your back, turn on your side grabbing the blanket… Just like a crank.
In many traditional European hotels, they have TWO twin-sized down comforters. So each person has their own. No more “cover stealing”.
Hubby is the blanket thief in our house. I was trained from childhood to sleep on my back, and I seldom turn over.

I have the opposite problem…. the other half turns to face me and dumps the bedding on top of me making me too hot.
I let my wife use the blanket because I still feel warm and toasty despite having the air-conditioner on.
