From “riders” to “earmarks”, when they change the name of the loophole, it will remain a loophole- and special interests, like corporations and the wealthy, and yes, the few remaining unions (with the cumulative remaining power of a dry cleaner in Salt Lake City), will be there to write them.
Pavlov, what you’re missing is that even if it gets shot down over and over again, it keeps the issue on the forefront of everyone’s mind. That was one thing a lot of voters (myself included) have wanted for a long time. If we see people saying no to banning earmarks, it keeps those congressional leaders in our crosshairs until the next election cycle.
