When I first met my husband, ‘this is the man you are going to marry’ popped into my head. Weird, but my head was right. I wish it would tell me things like what stocks to buy.
I decided to let my cat at the time determine whether or not I would date someone. She seemed to have a sense of people. She didn’t really like people but would greet people at the door, sit down and eye them up and down as if assessing them. She would then either go into a corner of the room and go to sleep or stand up, turn her back on the person, stick her tail straight up in the air and walk away. I learned when she behaved that way, there was generally a reason for her distaste so I would tell anyone asking me out that I could go out with them if my cat approved. Let me tell you, 99% of the guys run right then and there! My husband, Mr. I-don’t-like-cats, came over the first time. My cat, Miss I-hate-most-people, jumped on his lap and fell asleep. I figured that was her way of telling me that he could be her kitty-daddy. She was 10 at the time. We had her for another 10-1/2 years and we both still miss her.
