That Republican voters would be shocked by this is completely understandable.

    .

    But surprised?

No one, especially Republicans, should be the slightest bit surprised.

Republicans have run up deficits every single time they have gotten into power. And in their campaigns, they have over and over claimed that it was the ‘others’ at fault.

Even with this budget, after the massive tax cuts for the rich, they claim the spending is ALL the fault of the Democrats.

    .

They continue to lie that Obama tripled the deficit when what he dud was to insist that the hidden deficit from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan be included in the budget.

@JAH1492 — I guess the 8 -9 TRILLION dollar debt runned up by the OBAMA administration was just an accounting error, eh?!

I do not believe you read his last paragraph which had already answered your question. Since you appear to have difficulty reading I’ll repeat what he said for you:

They continue to lie that Obama tripled the deficit when what he did was to insist that the hidden deficit from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan be included in the budget.

And you might recall it was Bush who got us into the mid-east wars that are still raging. Idiot Liar Trump said he would stop the wars and Hillary would inflame the mid-east, and now Trump is doing everything he can to start WW III.

The bad news is, both the Republican and Democratic Parties have been shattered in the last election; the Democrats thru their slavish devotion to Hillary, and the Republicans through allowing the nomination to be captured by a boisterous buffoon populist. The good news is both the Republican and Democratic Parties have been shattered, and new voices may emerge.

The GOP plan to bankrupt the government is still on target.

I’m sure they’d tell you that once again, for the ump-teenth time, it’s all the Democrats fault. Because the GOP is the party of “fiscal responsibility”. “Pay not attention to the truth behind the curtain…I am the great and powerful Propagand-oz!…”

So after Bill Clinton left the economy in good shape, Bush-Cheney decided it was a great time for a tax cut and then a war, with the help of the neocons, looking at you John Bolton, and then an economic disaster. Obama took over and dug this country out, without going into bankruptcy….. Enter Donald Trump, tax breaks mostly for the top 1% and then he hires John Bolton… Fasten your seatbelts…
