This is the Mercer family, doing to politics what they did to hedge funds, gaming the system. Robert Mercer made so much, that he owed the IRS, close to $6 billion. Rather than pay, he has been keeping the IRS in court stalling until he can change the system. He started by backing Ted Cruz, whose only platform was get rid of the IRS. When Ted was defeated in the primaries, Trump was the only game in town to stop the IRS. So we get a tax bill so skewed to favor the 1%. Cambridge Analytica is owned by the Mercer family, Steve Bannon was the former vice president. They sell their subscribers the latest in cyber warfare, they are mercenaries in the computer world. They’ve hacked social networks, they’ve invented mass demonstrations to show proof of concept, they’ve released fake news to susceptible viewers and they have actively produced political propaganda. ………………………………………….who says, “It Can’t Happen Here”
Instagram, which Facebook owns, is still bigger in the U.S. than Snapchat. But it is only expected to add 1.6 million users in the 24 and younger group this year.
Facebook declined to comment, and Snapchat did not respond.
Posts and messages on Snapchat disappear after a short time, and that makes it fun for the younger age group, said Debra Aho Williamson, a principal analyst at eMarketer.
“(It’s) less likely that you’re going to go, ‘Oh gosh, a year ago I sent that or posted that? Ew,’ ” she said. “Whereas on Facebook, people of older generations, that doesn’t necessarily matter to them. They like that posterity.”
Only in America, land of the free home of the brave, do we pay companies to hand over our DNA, allow companies to give our data away without our knowledge, and click away our information – all to read what Russian bots have to say about the election. Is it great yet?
Interesting, when President Obama used data mining from social media during his reelection campaign, it was declared “ground breaking”,“Innovative”, “smart” and “a political masterstroke”. What has changed?
When the outrage turns to Cambridge, ol’ trumpster will probably take the Enron defence – “But, I am just a clueless dumb ol’ very highly paid (insert whatever here) that has NOOOO idea on what’s going on.”
Hey, don’t criticize Facebook! After all, it played a huge role in getting the world’s biggest bag of vinegar and water elected, which you prefer to someone with more experience, a better grip on reality and (hard as it is to believe) more ethics.
