The left just doesn’t understand why the conservatives are so anti-Obama. After all they never had any animosity towards Bush.

clark, you contradicted yourself “It’s actually wall st, the corporations, the superrich and the pentagon that actually run things and they do so with absolute control.”

Therefore Bush presidency had nothing to do with it. That makes Obama a puppet as well.

You think Bush is dumb? What about the people who reelected him?

We will be lucky if there are no war crimes against the Cheney, oops, Bush presidency. He OKAYED the torture. If history judges Shrub in a positive light, I will be amazed.

Nonsense, Libert., we know why you regressives despise President Obama.

His skin is darker than yours.

He is smarter than you are.

He has challenged a handful of Big Corporations, who control the mainstream media, which runs (with slight exceptions) from slightly regressive to extremely regressive, and on which almost all you regressives depend for your “information”.

He wants to raise taxes on the wealthy, which includes the handful of radio & television pundits who preach extremely regressive views and on which almost all you regressives depend for your opinions.

Clark, Gore Vidal’s observation was trenchant, but it does bleeep Obama, too, and rightly so, since his policies have been much too conservative and corporate friendly, which is the reason that Big Business still has so much power & encouragement to take him down. If he and Congress had truly challenged Big Business, then, although the screaming would have been even louder & shriller, they would not have done so badly in the last election, and the economy would, currently, be in better shape.

Mattadams, all your points have blown away, answered recently & in weeks past.

Brilling, as Bush-Dick won only one election—and that was questionable), no one reelected him.

Rino, don’t worry. History is already showing the Bush-Dick presidency to be among our nation’s worst. Unfortunately, in 2000, Al Gore’s team played for the history books while Bush-Dick’s team played to win. Democrats too often play for history when they should play to win. It pulled down some just last week.

Has anyone noticed over the decades, that newly elected presidents change some of their campaign promises and pick up the policies of the previous president. It happens after they are briefed my Washington Insiders.

Also, the Cartoonist is did not do his research for Katrina and Fannie Mae. Democrat Mayor screwed up. Democrat Governor screwed up. Democrat Barney Frank screwed up.

No, SKP, you failed your research. While there is more blame to go around, FEMA failed to deliver on Katrina even AFTER being asked, and they failed because Bush put political wardheelers in charge, kicking out the professionals Clinton had put in place (which had made FEMA one of the best-run government agencies there is). There was plenty of warning. As for Fannie Mae, the Right loves attacking Barney (an out gay man from Massachusetts? Horrors!), but he was only jumping on the Republican bandwagon. Republican removal of regulations had a lot more to do with it than anything Frank did.

Also, on the Katrina debacle, Rove saw an opportunity to make a Democratic governor look bad so, it was intentional not just incompetence that led to the FEMA failure.
