The corollary to believing that ‘those on the right’ are grownups is that ‘those on the left’ must be (all) children, lacking in morals and understanding and therefore unworthy as partners in dialogue.
Leftists cannot abide that deregulation has benefitted the economy. Their core belief is that bureaucrats are necessary to manage our lives, and by the slightest amount of constraint Trump has made the economy roar. As best as I recall, when he was elected leftists said the economy would never recover. Leftist economic forecasts have a short shelf life. That is the message Carmen should have embraced when she was a conservative.

She was raised to believe that the people who wanted to destroy government were going to live up to the grand ideas? She should have joined the Democratic party, that is where the adults with grand ideas are now. They haven’t been in the Republican party since the lobbyists took over.
