If he were like me, he’d have enough spine to call out the Republican noise machine for what it is. If he were like me, he would have tried to whip the Blue Dogs in line to get stuff done. If he were like me, he would have waffled on Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. If he were like me, he would have come down on BP and their systemic horse s**t safety record like a ton of bricks.
Of course, he’s not like me and let the Republicans f**k up most of his reform projects and did little when they blamed him for their desired outcome.
While there have been far more successes than noted in the press, there was too MUCH compromise with the “right”. Letting the extortion that got us into Iraq continue is a big mistake. That is the Democratic failure, making actual efforts to compromise with dictators is an error.
It takes a socialist to recognize
a socialist. Obama is no socialist.
I know.
It takes a fascist to recognize a
facist. I’ll leave that one up to
the fascists.
Actually, CanLib, he did attach some nifty strings to his bank bailout. There were a few banks that decided to not take the bailout money because of the restrictions their executives would have to agree to. My list wasn’t exhaustive, but you get the point.
I’ve said it often enough; the Democratic leadership has been timid and spineless against the Republicans since the Clinton Administration. THAT was the change I was looking for.
We disagree on somethings, but we still agree about douchebags like him. Though it’s not just Native Americans he’s eager to screw over, it’s the entire lower and middle classes.
“How many Democrat senators fended off defeat by proclaiming that they were in fact anti_0bama?”
That has more to do with the fractured and spineless nature of the Democratic leadership. They continually give in to Republican “comprimises” which weaken or destroy needed reform and allow the Republican noise machine to control the language of politics. They ain’t learned their lessons since the Clinton administration, so don’t hold your breath that they’ll learn it this time ‘round either.
